What a great place! The welcoming atmosphere and intoxicating smells were drawing us in from the moment we got here. Our server was knowledgeable and kind. The food was fantastic, really incredible how much flavor they got into the chicken. Everything was really well thought out and we really appreciated the chill date atmosphere!
Made a reservation because we had a show at the theater across the street. The food was phenomenal! We first started with the Queso de Cabra & Patatas con La Huancaina. Of the 2 the queso was my favorite. The sauce had the right bit of heat & with the goat cheese they complimented each other. We finished with the Camarones & Flautas. Both were large portions for a tapas restaurant. The blue polenta was cooked perfectly & my husband even liked the shrimp! We accompanied our meals with a glass of Malbec & Carmenere & ordered the La Dragona but I’ve confirmed I don’t like mezcal so our waitress had another drink made right away. Great place for a date night! We’d love to come back if on the north side again. Compliments to the chef!
Such a pleasant surprise! Food was delightful, service helpful and attentive and cocktails a lovely complement. I appreciated that the vegetarian options weren’t an afterthought. They were varied and filling. The desserts were a highlight - not too sweet and somehow light. I will 100% come back again, happily. I have one small note - char on the cauliflower would be nice. Other than that, I literally scraped every bit off the plate.
I went with my friends bought shrimp for all of us and it tasted a bit fishy but it was good. Also this kid with long hair was serving water too me and he very nice and kind. Overall rating 10/10 would go again I wish in my town.
This place is fantastic! The food, drinks, service, everything. So good. The outside is a little hard to find as it’s not marked, but it’s worth finding. The octopus was wonderful. So well cooked and great flavors. The yuca frites are addictive.
Our bartender/waitress was exceptional. We went for my sisters birthday and they made us feel very comfortable. A group of 7 ladies isn't the easiest task and they knocked the service out the park! Lots of parking and food was delicious. Will definitely be returning even if its just for drinks!
We were so thrilled to see Libertad open and then to learn it is family owned - AND the same family that ran Las Palmas in that location years ago! Love the people here, the food, cocktails and friendly vibe. Tino, our server, is wonderful and it was so great to see him again. Wonderful selection of wines, great margaritas/cocktails, the menu is upscale Latin and the dishes are delicious. The flautas were light, crispy, the right amount of spice and pretty…with a green mole and purple cabbage slaw. Perfect. The 1/2 chicken was light/herby. Love the balance of the menu and we’ll def be back all summer on the patio!
Excellent vibe and standout flavors in downtown Skokie I recently visited Libertad in downtown Skokie and had a fantastic experience. While Spanish-inspired cuisine isn't typically my go-to, every dish I tried was executed perfectly. The shrimp and the Sundue were absolute standouts—truly outstanding. Highlights: Service: Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and helped make the experience seamless. Drinks: The bar program is on point; the drinks were excellent. Atmosphere: The music was a great mix, and the crowd had a really cool energy. Note for diners: We visited on the night before a scheduled menu change, so a few items were unavailable. It didn't impact the quality of what we did have, but it’s something to keep in mind if you have your heart set on a specific dish. Overall, a great addition to the downtown Skokie dining scene. I’ll definitely be back.
The conversation and the energy in the room was lively. The food was great. The service was wonderful. Floor manager swung by a couple of times as did the owner to see how things were going. They were packed, but the food came out in a very reasonable timeframe. We had a great meal. Sorry wasn’t trying myself far too much to take photos. Did very much like the octopus and the chicken flautas. We would definitely go back.
